Our Story

Sam and Far Navab select and sell rugs that showcase their own ideals: integrity, quality, authenticity and beauty. The Iranian-born brothers are known for their vast industry knowledge and ethical business practices, providing customers with exquisite rugs and exceptional service.

Sam Navab

Sam Navab was the first brother to unearth a passion for rugs. In 1984, the University of Wisconsin-Stout graduate accepted an offer from a fellow Iranian to manage a rug business in Minneapolis. Though initially skeptical, Sam fell in love with rugs, especially the Persian rugs of his homeland. Four years later, Navab Brothers was born.

Far Navab

Farzan “Far” Navab caught the “Rug Bug” from his brother, Sam. An artist and filmmaker, he was working at the Minneapolis Institute of Art when Sam invited him into the rug industry. In their early years, Far focused on restoring and repairing timeless, century-old rugs. Today, Far travels regularly to the Middle East and elsewhere to meet with rug artisans and wool manufacturers.
